Sakhu started its life in 2002 when Wezi Ximiya and Dr Antonie van Rensburg formed a company called – Sakhu.
Their vision was to change communities through impact investments, enabling people to make their own choices
in their daily lives.
One of the memorable events in the history of the company was to conceptualise, design, and create the "South African Micro-finance Apex Fund" for the department of Trade and Industry (dti), providing unsecured loans to micro and small enterprises, building 12 Partner Organisations with 100,000 customers in less than 3 years.
